Who am I?

My name is Adina León. I am a wife and mother, an eldest sibling (of seven children), and a child of teachers. God has allowed me the privilege of teaching in multiple settings and states over the past twenty-seven years. In that time, I have taught every grade level and subject. My favorite subject is science which I teach currently. I love to show God's fingerprints throughout His creation and to build a sense of wonder and appreciation in my students.

My own children represent an array of learning styles which has alerted me to the need for varied approaches in instruction. I have two children who are gifted and extremely creative thinkers and two others who are on the autism spectrum (both severe and higher-functioning) who require a more consistent pattern and literal interpretation of concepts. Each learns in a unique way, but each also deserves to be taught in a way that allows them to be successful. This "homeschooling" I have received from them has greatly enhanced my awareness of student needs in the classroom.

My purpose for this blog is to share some of those tips that I have learned along the way, but also to learn from you as you comment. Over the past years, God has led me to teach in small and large schools, inner-cities and rural areas, Christian schools and public schools, typical classrooms and special education resource rooms and self-contained rooms, homeschool, church, etc. Regardless of the location, size, or audience, my goal is always to teach for the Master that others may come to know Him above all and that each student come to realize the value they have in Him.

  1. Adina! I love your story. I agree that the Lord uses our own children’s’ challenges to help us understand those He puts in our path! I know you will have so much good to share through this avenue, as the Master leads! 🥰
